Zoo Day!

While Grammy was visiting, we got to go to the zoo with Aunt Michelle, Isaiah and Ayla.  The weather was nice and we had a great time together!

Christopher's 4th Birthday!

Christopher had a great 4th birthday!  Family and friends are so generous with the gift giving, that we had to spread the gift opening over a couple days.  Here's Chris opening his very first gift of the day before breakfast (a Transformer).

Cake time - we got to have a birthday dinner and cake all together with Grammy, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Trevor, Isaiah and Ayla!

Trying out his new remote control car.  The ONE thing he asked for this year was a "race car."  What he meant was an actual, full-size race car that he could drive around.  This is what he got instead.

A new guitar with microphone that he LOVES.  He's put on several shows already and hands out tickets to his show so that we can watch.  He's quite the performer!

And last, but not least, a good burn-off-some-of-that-energy bouncy hopping ball.  Whew!

 

Happy Birthday, Chris!!  We're so proud of you and love you so very much - we can hardly believe you're four years old already!

Batman helicopter fun

Chris finally got to take his Batman helicopter (a Christmas toy) for a spin and boy, did he have fun!

The poor Batman helicopter doesn't look like it'll last long in Christopher's hands (up in the air, crash...up in the air, crash...up in the air, crash), but he was grinning from ear to ear!

We've had some pretty nice weather here lately, into the 60-70's.  We've been able to take advantage of the weather with some deck play time - bubbles and soccer (according to Chris, you need wrist guards to play soccer - don't ask).

Christopher's Birthday Party!

Today, we got to have a 5-way birthday celebration at a local bouncy place and Chris was one of the birthday boys.  He got to celebrate turning 4 and his friends Kai (5), Will C. (4), Caydan (4) and Will G. (3) got to celebrate, too!  These friends all have birthdays within about 3 weeks of each other.  The kids all had a great time and the parents were happy, too (no clean up!).

Ice skating

So, we got to take Christopher ice skating for the first time today.  Brian was out on the ice with him and I was the too-pregnant-to-be-on-the-ice photographer.  Chris was out on the lake once before, but just scooting around in his boots.  This time, he got laced up in ice skates.



Chris was really unsure about the ice skates at first, wobbling around as he walked.



At first, he enjoyed playing in the nearby snowbank more than actually being on the ice.  He particularly liked sliding down the snow on his stomach.



Then we got him a cone to hold on to, and this seemed to help his confidence.




Very quickly, he got the hang of it and was skating on his own several feet at a time.



So proud of him!



Chris had a lot of fun - what a great day!
