Easter 2011

Like last year, we got to celebrate Easter with Aunt Michelle ,Uncle Trevor, Isaiah and Ayla. This was the Easter egg hunt and one difference from last year - Christopher was sporting a mohawk in honor of Christ's resurrection.

Just getting starting with the Easter egg hunt. Once he remembered the idea was to collect as many as possible, he was off and running...
Very full basket, but quite sure there are more eggs around here...
Checking out his loot. Took less than two seconds for the first piece of chocolate to pass his lips.
Happy about the candy inside each egg...
Cutting out the ears for his "bunny ears hat" he's making...
So maybe the ears ended up just a little too much on the sides. Oops...
Carry an egg on a spoon and not drop it? That's not so hard...
Learning to blow bubbles. Fun!

Playing a little basketball (with a lot of determination) at the end of the day...

Grammy & Grampy came to visit!

We had such a good time when Grammy and Grampy came to visit that I hardly took any pictures! Christopher got to spend a couple days with Grammy and Grampy, which was a lot of fun! Lots of book reading...
While they were here, we got to go see Isaiah and Ayla play in their soccer games on a beautiful Saturday morning. Christopher tried to play soccer with them as well...
And, of course, did his best to steal the ball from Ayla...
Christopher's liking the view from up here!

Love you Grammy and Grampy - thanks for coming to visit us!!

I love Chinese food!

Christopher loves when we get Chinese take-out. He used to like "chinese noodles" the best, also known as Chicken Lo Mein, but he's on a big dumpling kick right now. We'll get an order of dumplings and he'll eat nearly all of it...

Animated!

Talking with Christopher is a lesson in overly expressive conversation...

What's normal for a 3 year old...

...is unlikely to be normal for anyone else. He fell asleep for his nap wearing black gloves (refused to take them off for nap time), clutching his new Batman toy. He will often take a toy to bed with him to hold (either nap time or bed time) and this is not the first time he wore gloves during a nap.

Birthday Season

March has been full of birthdays (which means lots of birthday parties and lots of birthday cake!) About a week and a half ago, we got to go to cousin Isaiah's 6th birthday party and had a lot of fun! We're not entirely sure why he took this pose. He was waiting in line outside, playing a racing game with the kids. Rolling the shirt up and sticking out his belly had absolutely nothing to do with the game.
Watching the big boys play Mario Kart on Wii...
Playing legos among a sea of girls...
Trying his hand at the Mario Kart Wii game...
And this is at his friend, Caydan's (green shirt) birthday party. These three boys are just days/weeks apart in age.

Party Time!

We got to celebrate Christopher's birthday today with some of his (and our) friends. With the sun out, it was nice enough to play on the deck a little...

Pizza time. Christopher spent more time laughing than eating...
Gathering to open presents...
Sometimes, you need a little help from a friend to get the gift open...
Beginning to gather to sing "Happy Birthday"...

Practicing blowing out the candle (minus the cake)...
The traditional Kozel birthday cake, of course...

Digging in to yet another cupcake...
We love you so very much, Christopher, and hope you had a great birthday!
